ZE:A’s Park Hyungsik for Cosmopolitan Magazine

ZE:A’s Park Hyungsik recently did a pictorial for Cosmopolitan magazine.

He has recently been all over the place, appearing on music shows, variety programs, drama,s and musicals. He’s been busy everyday, yet Park Hyungsik says, “Due to MBC’s ‘Real Men,’ my stamina has increased so I am available to keep up with all my activities.” It seems like being busy does have its advantages.

“On ‘Real Men,’ I have the ‘baby soldier’ image, and similarly at home and in my group (ZE:A), as well as on ‘Real Men,’ I am the maknae (the youngest). I usually have a lot of aegyo and am the type who shows my real emotions,” he said, revealing his true personality.

He also stated his ideal type, “When I look at the opposite sex, I look at their eyes the most. I like eyes that are captivating and suck you right in.” However, he added, “I don’t think now is the right time for me to be dating. Even if I come to like someone, I think I will have to continue being just friends with them,” showing his dependability despite his appearance as the maknae with lots of aegyo.

Park Hyungsik will be participating in ZE:A’s first solo concert on November 23 at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium, and is also currently acting in SBS’ “The Heirs” as Myung Soo. With a fully packed schedule, Park Hyungsik revealed his ambitions, “I want to keep developing, so that I can become a person who has a lot to show for anything I do.”

Park Hyungsik’s pictorial and interview will be available through the November edition of Cosmopolitan magazine.

Joo-won in talks to take on Fashion King (no, a different one)

I woulda thought the title Fashion King would be an association to avoid at all costs, but nope, there's a new movie in the works with that name, and Joo-won will be its hero. (Some articles tout his casting as a sure thing; a couple state that he's considering and will decide on his next project soon. Take that as you will.)

This Fashion King is not necessarily the same story depicted in the hot mess of a drama starring Yoo Ah-in that aired in 2012, but it's not entirely unrelated—both drama series and movie are based on a webtoon of the same name. It sounds like the adaptations diverge pretty significantly, though, with vastly different setups and character descriptions, so (fingers crossed) this new movie will bear little resemblance to the TV show.

The movie centers around an ordinary high school boy with a crush on a pretty girl in his class, and in order to appeal to her he decides to transform himself into a stylish hottie. Well, it's Joo-won so he's got hottie covered. And while he may be a little on the old side to play a high schooler, he really is the perfect guy to play a shy, boyish character who then turns into a style maven. Even if he weren't such a chameleon of an actor, the dorky-cool dichotomy seems like such a part of his real-life personality that it should be right up his alley.

Joo-won recently quit his role in the Sunday variety show 1 Night 2 Days to focus more on his his other activities, which was probably necessary given how much he has going on: Following the wrap of his drama Good Doctor, he has been hard at work on the musical Ghost, which will run from November through June, and he's also got a film awaiting release, Catch Me, co-starring Kim Ah-joong.

Fashion King will be directed by Oh Ki-hwan of The Art of Seduction and hopes to release in April 2014.

October in K-pop Fashion

Fall is definitely in our midst as we see a lot of celebrities sporting warm, layered outfits. Sweaters, jackets, scarves-name it, the stars have won it so exquisitely that fall fashion is still as hot as ever. Here are the celebs top fashion go-to's in October.

Black and Shimmering and Splendid

Yeah, sure. It's October. We have reason enough to wear all black in celebration of Halloween. However, our wardrobe doesn't have to be boring and monochromatic like it just came out of a Charlie Chaplin film. Celebs like Ladies Code have sported an elegantly fashionable way to spice up your black outfits--with gold details and anything shimmering and splendid!

Plaids

The popularity of plaids started long ago, but it remains today as one of the best casual go-to outfits for celebrities. These casual pieces aren't high maintenance and can go well with basically anything. Plaids are often worn by stars at the airport or when doing every day routines, any time they need a comfortable yet trendy outfit. However, plaids have gone from airport runway to red carpet as worn by celebrities in the photos below.

Vintage

So you think frills and ruffles are too "archaic" for your taste? Think again. Stylists and celebrities have somehow found a way to revolutionize vintage outfits into something wearable in the modern day setting.

Even though Park Shin Hye and IU are dressed down in long sleeves with frilly accents, they still look cute and sexy without being old and out of date.

High-waists

Time to show off the curves, girls! High-waist pants, skirts, and shorts are in this season. Celebrities--whether they may be curvy, petite, or slender--will find a way to look amazing in this figure accentuating piece. Take it from After School's UEE and Kim Min Jung who are showcasing different ways of rocking high-waist pieces.

Houndstooth

Rain has definitely got it down pat when it comes to fashion. The houndstooth pattern is really in this year and is very chic and sleek.

Denim

Much like the plaids, denim polos aren't exactly a new thing. However, because they are very versatile and easily matched, a lot of celebrities still sport denims without so much of a hassle. You can wear it when doing basic activities, like Girls' Generation's Yuri on her way to the airport. Or you can wear it stylishly on the red carpet like f(x) member Krystal.

Euro Street Fashion Inspired

A lot of celebrities (perhaps thanks to their stylists) have mastered the art of layering, matching, and not playing it safe when it comes to fashion. European fashion have always been known for being eccentric and out of the ordinary, but never too much you'd want to pull your hair out. The following celebrities look very unique and stylish, but still keep up with the cold season.

[News] Shin Seung Hun says his ideal type is combination of Suzy, IU and Clara

Veteran singer Shin Seung Hoon, who recently made a music comeback, appeared as guest on MBC FM4U’s ‘Park Kyung Lim’s Two O’clock Date’ on October 30, and talked about his ideal type of a woman.

During the broadcast, Shin Seung Hoon talked about the hot celebrities at the present and said, “Suzy is the symbol of ‘first love’, and in case of IU, she’s not only pretty but also sings good. Clara reminds of baseball match.”

DJ Park Kyung Lim then asked the singer which of the three girls is closest to his ideal type, to which Shin Seun Hoon answered, “I could not pick one person. But, I’d like someone who is as cute as IU, as sexy as Clara, and as pretty as Suzy.”

Review: Park Ji Yoon Lays Down A Sweet Beat On 'Mr. Lee' Featuring San E [VIDEO]

With Lee Hyori recently married and on indefinite hiatus, there is a gap in K-pop for a solo singer mixing the flavor of sexy fun with the daring search for a great party beat.

K-pop may have found, at the very least an excellent stand-in for K-pop's Queen of the "Bad Girls" in Park Ji Yoon, whose new single "Mr. Lee" featuring San E is currently number two in its second week on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

And setting aside the obvious physical similarities and the fact that Park exudes the same mixture of sophistication and sex appeal as Lee, the understated vocal style of Park with just the right amount of power is also reminiscent of the "Miss Korea" singer.

Like Us on Facebook :

Chart-topping solo singers like IU or Lim Kim (Kim Ye Rim) are excellent for the introspective, folky or jazzy sound that they are bringing to K-pop, but there is something to be said for a good old fashioned pop diva who just wants to lay down a great hook over a slamming beat.

In her most innovative early days that's who Madonna was, and that's the mold that Park Ji Yoon seems to be cut from.

Park's delivery is laid back and confident in a song that is a cacophony of virtuosic DJ scratching, slick jazz guitar chords, a barn burner of a horn section and a 1990s-infused hip-hop beat that would Tribe Called Quest rapper and producer make Q-Tip proud.

And on the subject of rappers, it is worth mentioning the hot fire that rapper lays down on the track. It is the perfect compliment to Park's smooth delivery and an excellent way to bring the song into the present moment.

K.Will Jumps To Number 1 On The Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 With His Soulful Hit 'You Don't Know Love'

After a month that has seen top 10 dominance by pop rock trio Busker Busker and solo singer IU, K.Will finds himself in the number one spot on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 this week with his smooth R&B single "You Don't Know Love."

It's likely the song's chart success has something to do with the popular music video starring Chanyeol of the boy band EXO and model Lee Ho Jung as estranged lovers.

"You Don't Know Love " is a product of the successful production team Duble Sidekick. The group has worked with Super Junior, MBLAQ and SISTAR.

Jumping an impressive 33 places from last week, Park Ji Yoon's funky new single "Mr. Lee" featuring San E is in the number two spot on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

The song is an innovative mixture of 1990s East Coast hip-hop drum beats and 1970s Motown horn riffs. And drifting on top of that tasty musical backdrop, Park offers several layers of soulful vocals.

In the wake of charges the composers of the IU hit "The Red Shoes" Lee Min Soo and Kim Ee Na plagiarized Nekta's 2009 song "Here's Us," according to the website allkpop, the song dropped two places this week.

IU's single "The Red Shoes" is at number three.

Hanging around in the top five, is the Busker Busker single "Love At First," which had a two week lock on the number one spot on the Billboard K-pop chart, before IU knocked it out of first place, last week.

Busker Busker's "Love At First" is currently at number four in its fifth week on the chart.

With a pulsing techno beat and "Gangnam Style" drum breaks, the minor chord progressions of new T-ara's dance track "No. 9" give the song an epic and original quality.

Although once known as "K-pop's most hated group" because of a bullying controversy that resulted in former member Hwayoung quitting the group, T-ara appears to be back in their fans' good graces.

"No. 9" is at number five in its fourth week on the chart.

October Headliners: The Agencies And Artists That Dominated This Month's K-Pop News

October delivered lots of news to make YG's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk happy.

October delivered lots of news to make YG's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk happy.

October was a fascinating month for K-Pop, one where it was evident that the former balance of power was about to return. The headlines of K-Pop news were once again filled with announcements and promotional activities from SM, YG, and JYP Entertainment artists. While there were many successful comebacks launched in October, the completion of the YG Entertainment's competition program WIN, became one of the most talked about issues of the month. Beyond WIN, YG Entertainment delivered so much news within October, that the agency is clear in its intent to become the leader in the return of the Big Three in K-Pop.

Like Us on Facebook :

October marked the beginning of announcements in which YG Entertainment laid out the schedule of comeback activities for global sensation, Big Bang. It was known that T.O.P would be releasing his film,Commitment, in November and the artist was actively engaging in promotional activities for the film. However, it was announced that T.O.P would have his first musical solo release in November. Big Bang group mate Taeyang also began to reveal news for his upcoming solo project, solidly ending the month with the release of the teaser for the dubstep influenced Ringa Linga. In addition, G-Dragon continued to topple the competition on music countdown shows and became the recipient of the SIA Style Icon Of The Year award.

Aside from the solo announcements for Big Bang, YG Entertainment's PSY announced plans for the mysteriously named Moonlight Gymnastics concert, which is set to take place December 22, 23, and 24. PSY also revealed that he had collaborated with Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler, on an upcoming release. Finally, the artist was named along with 2NE1, as being part of an upcoming hologram concert which is set to take place in the UK in early November.

If the announcements regarding Big Bang and PSY were not enough buzz for YG Entertainment, the reception that both Team A and Team B received upon the completion of WIN, were definitely icing on the cake. Although, many fans of YG and K-Pop followed the competition show, the K-Pop world went wild about the Final Battle performances and began to debate whether or not Team A were the rightful winners of the competition. In addition, YG immediately released some of tracks by both Team A and Team B, in a move reminiscent of KPop Star or American Idol. The excitement surrounding WIN continued when it was announced that Team A would be opening for upcoming Big Bang's Dome Tour.

Park Jin Young, CEO of JYP Entertainment and solo artist, kicked off October with the shocking announcement that he would be getting married within the month. Following his marriage, he released information regarding not only his own comeback, but his future plans regarding a new male group, artists JJ Project, and Miss A. After what seemed like a lengthy absence, JYP Entertainment is set to fully return.

In terms of K-Pop comebacks, solo artist IU and JYJ's Kim Jaejoong were the most successful, overcoming what could have been crippling obstacles. Following her SNS photo scandal with Super Junior's Eunhyuk, it seemed like IU would never be known as Korea's Little Sister, again. However, she made huge comeback with the widely successful, jazz influenced album Modern Times. Kim Jaejoong, in a similar move of reinvention, helped to change the way in which K-Pop and K-Rock are viewed with WWW.

Beyond the reemergence of the so-called Big Three in K-Pop, YG Entertainment's dominance in October, and the comebacks, October marked the beginning of the award show bonanza. By comparison to past seasons, networks have made huge strides to include international K-Pop fans in both the voting and viewing processes. With networks supporting online streaming and the inclusion of languages other than Korean and Japanese on voting sites, it is apparent that the industry is beginning to shift towards wider acceptance of international audiences. As this shift occurs, which agencies and artists will continue to evolve; which members of K-Pop industry will be left in the dust?

While a lot of people may be envious of IU’s body, IU is actually jealous of women with curves.
On October 14’s broadcast of KBS’ Hello, IU appeared as a guest with K.Will, EXO’s Kai and Lady.

During the show, a woman appeared saying that her older sister is always bothering her by saying she’s gained weight. The woman revealed that she’s 165 centimeters and 55 kilograms and is completely satisfied with her life, but is receiving stress with her older sister constantly bickering about what she eats and how she eats it.
“I think there’s something like that exists between sisters,” said IU. “I also live with two sisters, and when they see my skinny body, they said that I don’t have anything.”

The MCs asked if her sisters then have something, and IU replied, “My sisters are on the curvy side. When asked if she’s jealous, IU answered with a laugh, “I am jealous.”

Meanwhile, when told she has grown into a mature woman, IU said, “I dyed my hair. I also gained weight and lost some.”

Plagiarism Controversies Left and Right… What’s Going On?

IU's "The Red Shoes" and Trouble Maker's music video... Are they just works of plagiarism?

The music video for Trouble Maker's "Now," was initially the center of attention for its content - a bed scene between a couple, alcohol, cigarettes, firearms, etc. - and was therefore "Rated R." And now, the music video is suspected of being plagiarized.

That's because there are many similar scenes to American pop star Rihanna's music videos. Netizens have commented that the kiss scene inside the car, the hugging scenes on top of the car, and the car turning scenes are the same in both music videos. The agency has responded to these accusations by asking onlookers to see the video as a whole, and has not yet made any official statements.

And then there's IU's new song "The Red Shoes," which took the number 1 spot on the 3 main music programs. The song is very reminiscent of Nektar's "Here's Us." Regarding this matter, IU's agency sought the professional opinions of the songwriter Lee Min Soo and an outside music expert. They related that the two songs might sound similar in melody, but in reality the chord progressions in both songs are completely different.

Not only that, songwriter Kim Hyung Sik and Bang Shi Hyuk both wrote on their respective Twitters that swing jazz songs could sound very similar to each other, and that IU's song is definitely not copied.

Seo In Guk’s First Movie Role in ‘No Breathing’

From singing to acting... Seo In Guk now has a new dream.

The movie "No Breathing" is attracting a lot of attention simply because of the three main actors: the ever popular Seo In Guk and Lee Jong Suk, and Girls' Generation Yuri. The movie is about high school swimmers and their growing pains. Won Il (Seo In Guk) is a gifted swimmer, but has always distanced himself from the water. Woo Sang (Lee Jong Suk) is one of the top swimming stars. The two swimmers compete against each other. Jung Eun (Kwon Yuri)has a loving friendship with these two. The three youths learn to get over their past scars.

Following his appearance in the musical "Gwanghwamun Sonata," Seo In Guk is still receiving offers to star in other musicals. He said, "Until there is no more opportunity for me to do so, I will continue to act." Seo In Guk debuted in the music world through "Superstar K." He then went on to show off his acting skills in the dramas "Reply 1997," "Rascal Sons," and "The Master's Sun." His next movie "No Breathing," is a phrase in the swimming world that means one doesn't stop to take breaths and keeps on swimming, not unlike his continued activities in the music and acting industry.

Like Us on Facebook :

This movie will be the second opportunity for Seo In Guk to play a high school student, following his role in "Reply 1997." He said, "The character is very charismatic, and I didn't see a reason to reject the role just because he's a high school student. My elders advised that it's a role I can't do later on, even if I want to."

There's been talk that this movie is more for the fangirls. Seo In Guk said, "I know there's a 'Could that really happen' aspect, and the story includes fate, rivalry, and a love triangle. It's right up there for things youths can relate to. Don't forget there's a visual aspect to it, too, since it features tall and toned swimmers. But there is also the story of Won Il and Woo Sang overcoming their individual obstacles. The story is relatable for anyone, not just fangirls."

Since the movie is about swimming, he had to reveal his body. He said, "I was tremendously stressed out. Lee Jong Suk and Shin Min Chul are both models, so they have really nice bodies. Compared to them, my body looks so thick. I don't even have good proportions. I had to keep telling myself to just focus on my acting."

When asked about whether or not he was scared of the water, Seo In Guk answered, "Ever since I was young, I enjoyed playing in the water. I would even swim with my friends in high school. But it's a completely different thing to swim as an athlete. In my first practice, I had a hard time swimming half the length of a 25m pool. I thought I was going to die whenever we filmed at the pool."

Because the character in the movie is a swimming genius, Seo In Guk had to do some research. "I watched the video of Michael Phelps very carefully. While filming the movie, he was my role model. I don't know if it helped at all, but I really tried my best to imitate him."

When asked about his dreams, and whether they've expanded since he debuted, he answered, "The funny thing is, it doesn't just end with achieving a dream. When I finally reached the goal of becoming a singer, my dream expanded with the desire to sing alongside certain singers. When I started acting, my dream was to continue producing great works. When I was younger I would play those chance games, and always get a dud. That's why I always thought I had no luck. But now that I start working, that's not the case. Life is quite the rollercoaster for me."

IU reveals why she cut her hair short
[News] IU reveals why she cut her hair short

IU revealed that she cut her hair short to chop off the damage from dyeing her hair blonde.

On the October 31st broadcast of KBS Cool FM's 'Choi Daniel's Pops Pops', IU shared that her hairstyle transformation was not for her album or drama. She revealed, "After I dyed my hair blonde for my album concept, my hair got damaged. But I've always thought that I should try a short hairdo at least once... I tried red hair before, and then I cut it short."

When asked about her first impression of DJ Choi Daniel, she commented, "This is not my first time meeting you as I've previously greeted you while crossing paths. I also met you during the congratulatory stage for the acting awards ceremony. But this is my first time having a conversation with you."

Whatever the reason may be, IU's new short hairstyle suits her role on the new KBS 2TV drama 'Pretty Man', which will premiere following 'Secrets' on November 20!

“Future Choice” Begins Airing Tomorrow! Will it be as Successful as “Good Doctor?”

Will actress Yoon Eun Hye rise to the top again with a role in another romantic comedy?

KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Future Choice” begins tomorrow. Much anticipation is being focused on the new series especially since its predecessor, “Good Doctor,” achieved much success bringing in as much as 20% in ratings.

“Future Choice” is about a girl named Na Mi Rae (Yoon Eun Hye), who receives a visit from the future Mi Rae (Choi Myung Gil). The future Mi Rae gives advice to the present Mi Rae in her decision-making in order to redirect her destiny into a different direction.

“Future Choice” consists of the “future self” and the “present self” meeting in one place distinguishing itself from the conventional time slip dramas we have seen before.

Previous time slip dramas include SBS’ “Rooftop Prince,” tvN’s “Queen In Hyun’s Man,” and “Nine: Nine Time Travels.” It is a concept that has become a 100% box office hit. The prospect is that “Future’s Choice” will receive positive effects as a time slip drama, which is guaranteed to succeed.

Moreover, another key point is the question of whether Yoon Eun Hye will rise to the top once again especially since she has not starred in a box office hit since MBC’s “Goong,” and “Coffee Prince.” She is predicted to set the bar high with her energetic and lovely charm as well as appealing to the audience with a more mature image than before.

Hong Jin Ah, the writer of MBC’s “Over the Rainbow,” “Beethoven Virus,” and “The King 2 Hearts,” is known for coming up with new materials and approaches to writing. The prediction is that her writing skills will add another positive synergy to the drama.

With Yoon Eun Hye and her strength in romantic comedies and the time slip theme that has proven to produce box office hits, it is expected “Future Choice” will triumph with is competitors, MBC’s “Goddess of Fire,” and SBS’ “The Suspicious Housekeeper.”

Plagiarism Streak Continues: Trouble Maker's 'Now' Vs. Rihanna's 'We Found Love'

Plagiarism seems to be a hot topic in Kpop at the moment since after the issues flared about IU's Red Shoes, there are now new things brought to light under scrutiny.

The duo of Trouble Maker found themselves in trouble as their new music video for comeback track “Now” is currently under fire for suspicions of plagiarism.

Like Us on Facebook :

On October 28, a series of screen captures were uploaded on online community, stressing out the strikingly similar scenes between Trouble Maker’s “Now” music video and Rihanna’s “We Found Love” music video. The similar-looking scenes included hugging in a field, drifting cars, love scene inside the car and fireworks.

Internet users commented, “Talking about Hallyu wave, but then you steal a famous American singer’s MV. Aren’t you even embarrassed?” “The producer has no sense of pride since he stole other people’s ideas” and “It’s similar to the point where you can’t deny it.”

The harsh commentators did not hold back at all as they tore the video limb from limb because of the many commonalities that were found between the two videos. In light of these recent findings, no statement has been released yet from the side of the company and the artists. What do you guys have to say about this new issue?
