24-7KPOP was present as NU’EST hosted a fanmeet and concert in Singapore on June 22nd. The event was held at Kallang Theatre and Bugis+ Atrium. Upon questioning, the guys added their admiration of Big Bang and their hopes to work with Lady GaGa and Son Dambi, among others.
Press Conference:
At the Press Conference, NU’EST entered the conference room in their stage outfit for their latest album, Hello. During the press conference, many questions were asked and Ren said that he wants to collaborate with Lady Ga Ga. And when the emcee asked Ren what does he do in the collaboration, Ren said he wants to play the piano with her because he thinks she is really good at it.
Min Hyun and Baekho both shared that they really admires BIG BANG a lot. When the emcee asked about the group they would like to collaborate with as a group, they answered that they would like to collaborate with Son Dambi and After School.
In the press conference they even mentioned that in NU’EST, Min Hyun suits Hello the most because of his unique voice color.
When they were asked how would they want to portray themselves in the dramas as actors, Min Hyun wants to act with the other members in a drama like Boys Over Flowers. While Aron wants to act in a romantic/comedy drama, JR and Baekho both wants to try out action while Ren said he wants to act through his charming gaze. So maybe if you see Ren in dramas, he would be a prince? (Laughs) And to end off the drama chat, Baekho mentioned he gained a little weight when the emcee asked if the fans would be able to see his abs.
Mentioning also they would want to do a lot of activities with the fans because they would want to involve as many fans as possible.
The members mentioned that Aron changed the most from debut because he became skinnier and better looking. Aron commented that his face was a little chubbier during debut and now we could all see that his face became sharper!
Ending off the press conference, the emcee asked who in NU’EST can’t tie a tie, Aron answered, “Besides me, I think everyone can’t do it.” He even jokingly mentioned that their necktie had a little hook on it so they didn’t have to tie it. The emcee added, asking Baek Ho if he would want a girlfriend who knows how to tie a tie but he replied that he don’t like wearing ties so it doesn’t matter if she knows how to do it or not.
Showcase:
So later the evening was their showcase at Kallang Theatre and many fans had their pink lightsticks on and were waving them enthusiastically to support NU’EST in their performances. They started the showcase with their intro song, NU, Establish, Style, Tempo and continuing from there, they performed their second song, Action. It was visually amazing, the lights, the moves and the overall coordination was very well displayed. The boys have really worked really hard to put on this good show for their Singapore fans.
Right after Action they had a break and began the talk segment, which is divided into 3 segments, the Q&A session, Quiz Section for the members to test their knowledge of Singapore and how well do the fans know NU’EST segment. Fans wrote all their questions and messages on post its and stick them on to the board for them to pick from and reply to. The fans whom got picked are singled out from their seats and our five boys replied to all their post-its sincerely. During the segment, Ren blew a flying kiss to his fan who wrote a support message for him on the post it which was picked by the other members.
During the Quiz Section, they were given questions to answer from and the winner was Baek Ho who then chose the lucky fan by picking it from the fishbowl. During the Quiz segment, the members were fighting to answer the questions and JR, most of the time got his answers from the fans. They even played around with one another on the stage, Baek Ho tried to cover Aron’s eyes while JR went to grab Aron from the back, not allowing him to raise his hand to answer. Eventually Baek Ho won and the lucky fan received the gift from Baek Ho personally.
To wrap up the whole fan meet segment, the audiences are asked to stand up and they are to guess the answer to the emcee’s questions about NU’EST. During the segment, one of the questions was “Who is the dirtiest member in the group?” and a lot of the fans knew who it was and all chose JR. And eventually when there are questions like “Who is a playboy in NU’EST?”, the members all chose Baek Ho when the audiences, majority of them chose Aron. As more questions are asked, lesser fans left standing and finally 5 lucky fans were shortlisted to join the boys on stage for a photo and to choose a present that is prepared by them. The lucky fans then moved to the individual members according to the presents they picked from the table and at the last few photos, the other members photo bombed the photos.
After the fan-meet segment, they continued the showcase by performing their albums songs and also a special performance of Sandy, English Lyrics version, for Singapore Showcase. The lyrics are written by a Singapore Fan. They selected from many different lyrics and decided to choose her’s because it fits their song the most. They thanked her in the showcase personally to show their appreciation!
After the showcase ended, the fans were cheering for NU’EST to go back onto the stage and it happened. Very surprisingly, instead of appearing from the stage, they appeared from behind and all the fans were so shock. Everyone stood up and got closer to their idols to shake hand and hi five with them. During the encore section, all the fans rushed to the front of the stage and jumped along to the music. During the encore section, there was a lot of fan service given to the fans. After the whole event ended, they proceeded to the Hi Touch Session.
The whole event was really successful and it was very enjoyable for the fans and everyone at the showcase!
