James Spader is pure friggin' evil!
OK, not really, but the guy sure knows how to play a bad guy!
We still want to kick his ass after what he did to Andie in Pretty In Pink!
It looks like we'll have to leave the ass kicking to the Avengers though, since Spader has just been cast as the evil robot Ultron in the next Marvel superhero sequel!
Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to open May 1, 2015 and James will play the artificial intelligence villain who wants to take over the world!
Joss Whedon is returning to his role as director for the film and recently talked about Spader's character, saying:
"He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic."
Sounds like Mr. Spader will get to put his acting chops to the test!
James is already busy playing a different maniacal mastermind on his new show The Blacklist, where he stars as an eery ex-fugitive who uses his evil genius to help the FBI track down other wanted criminals.
Holy shiz! We hope all these upcoming acting gigs don't turn James into an actual real-life killing machine!
Early rumors are that the movie will rewrite comic book history and have Robert Downey Jr.'s character Tony Stark be the one who invents Ultron, only to have to then defeat his creation with his power armored Iron Man suit.
A new Avengers movie AND a brat pack reunion in one?!?
Color us THERE!!!
