This just in to the ACN news desk….Harry friggin' Dunne took home an Emmy last night!
Considering the talent Jeff Daniels was up against, we were pretty shocked to see him win the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role on The Newsroom!
Jeff barely had any time to celebrate his upset victory though, as he had to be in Georgia THIS MORNING to get to work on Dumb & Dumber To!
He told reporters that his plan was to party all night and then hop in his Shaggin' Wagon plane to jet off to Atlanta! And he's hoping that the booze and being at an altitude of 37,000 feet will help him get stupid enough to play his beloved part in the sequel flick!
Jeff explained:
"The intellectual free-fall from [Will] MacAvoy to Harry Dunne, imagine if you will. There are some things that we're going to do in Dumb and Dumber To that make the toilet scene seem lame. Pales in comparison and I can't divulge what, but just that they've topped it. They best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius."
He's of course talking about Jim Carrey (unless Laurie Holden has some really funny jokes up her sleeve!)
Daniels and Carrey are reuniting after 20 years to play two of our favorite funny fools again! Maybe Jeff can follow up this Emmy win with an Oscar?!?
We'd say the chances of that happening are one in a million. So we're saying there's a chance!!!
