Voting for Kollaboration Star 2013 Finalists Opens
LOS ANGELES, CA – Kollaboration Star 2013 will open online voting for the selection of its finalists on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 12 AM PDT on its Facebook page. The voting system will remain open for 3 days until Thursday, October 17, 2013, closing at 11:59 PDT. During this time, the public will be able to vote for their favorite competitors from the winners of the local Kollaboration talent competitions in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Atlanta, Houston, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, East Lansing, Boston, Dallas, and Honolulu.
Out of the thirteen city representatives, the five contestants with the highest number of votes will move on as finalists, while a sixth finalist will be selected by Kollaboration as a Wild Card. All six finalists will then be flown out to Los Angeles to compete in the final show at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on November 16th for the $20,000 Grand Prize and share the stage with some of the most prominent names in Asian American entertainment– Drunken Tiger, Yoon Mi Rae, Bizzy, Paul PK Kim, Mike Song, KRNFX, and David So.
The thirteen potential finalists for Kollaboration Star 2013 are already displaying a diverse array of performance mediums and talents. The roster includes internationally recognized poetry slam champions, soulful bands from notable universities such as UC Berkeley and University of Washington, musical acts who’ve established a name for themselves in their local music scenes as well as a MBC Star Audition finalist and former trainee of CUBE Entertainment. Kollaboration is an Asian Pacific Islander American/Canadian (APIA/C) 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive and accurate perceptions of APIA/Cs by not only providing a platform for young artist to showcase their talents, but also supporting the APIA/C community as a whole.
