IU Meets Childhood Friend While Filming ‘Picnic Live’, ‘I was Nervous in Front of my Friend’

Singer IU met her fellow classmate while filming for cable channel MBC Music's "Picnic Live."

On November 5th, MBC Music uploaded a photo onto their official Facebook page of the day's shooting. The show is a live music program that picks a special location to give the singers an opportunity to greet the audience in a close and personal matter. In honor of having IU appear as a guest on the show, MBC Music invited other 21-year old women to the event, all of whom are the same age as the singer herself.

According to MBC Music, IU proceeded with the recording for this event along with 40 21-year old women at a rooftop garden. They said, "What's amazing is that one of the audience members was actually IU's 4th grade classmate and junior high alumni. They had a mini reunion in 10 or so years. IU must have been nervous in front of her friends, but she was able to sing, talk, and host the event very well. It was moving to see her professionalism."

At this shooting, IU sang "Forgotten Season," the same song she sang while filming for KBS 2TV's drama "You're the Best, Lee Soon Shin." According to MBC Music, "IU has received many requests to sing this song, but sang it for the first time on our show."

In a phone call with My Daily, an MBC Music rep stated, "There have been more than 1,000 fans who requested an event starring IU, and the atmosphere was very lively while recording was in progress." This episode guest starring IU is scheduled to air on November 11 at 11PM.
