Has a reflection ever said so much with just a look without a single word spoken? I bet Joong Won didn’t like the man he was staring at. The expression on his face was a mixture of guilt, remorse, and longing. This was the guy who didn’t hold on to her when he should have and sent her off crying alone. He broke her heart and didn’t take that extra step to go comfort her right away. He definitely wasn’t the one who has been trying to read again -a feat only Gong Sil could make happen. In every aspect, Gong Sil was the driving force that has been making him change for the better. He doesn’t just see dollar signs anymore and sees people through the eyes of compassion. As soon as he touched those books, it’s like he was reminded of what Gong Sil has done for him. She made him let go of his trauma a bit to give himself the chance to escape the prison he kept himself in all these years. She opened his eyes and made him realize that by not reading again, he was letting his abductors win and continue to traumatize him. The key to opening those invisible bars was inside him all along, but he just needed the motivation to grab it and free himself. I bet he impulsively ran after her cuz he didn’t like being the person who hurt her. He had to amend his wrong even that late at night. I kept wondering if he meant all along to kiss her, but being the smart guy that he is, I think he saw that opening when Gong Sil pretended to be possessed by a ghost. He knew he could outsmart her and use that same line he said to the walnut ghost lady. This might be an odd thing to say about a kiss, but in that moment, I think for the first time Joong Won felt triumphant. This was way better than when he felt relief from getting everything off his chest and telling her how much he missed her while he was away. For the sole reason that this was Joong Won acting on his own with no restrictions and limitations - following his heart to the fullest and savoring his little moment of victory.

Episode 12 

Starts from the kiss. He hugs her and pets her hair slowly. he asks if the ghost is gone and Tae Gong Sil is left – listen well. he says we started this cuz you said you could handle it. if it’s hard on you it’s the end so what will you do now. she looks at him and says something came inside and left. he says thank goodness you came back safely. she asks why did you come here. he says you said you decided the next date would be your home. he goes inside and she asks where are you going. he reminds her she wasn’t invited at his home when she first came. he looks around and says there is no place for a ghost to hide. he sees her bra so she quickly puts it away. he says how he didn’t come inside cuz it was dangerous. he says how he did what he did a while ago to scare off the ghost. he says cuz my heart keeps going to you it’s upsetting and not being able to stop it hurts my pride. invite me over. like you gave coffee to the ghost give me some. she offers to give him bitter not sweet drink. he tells the stuffed animal I was invited so get lost

SR is meeting with Kim. Kim explains about how GS is treating JW for his pain. someone not just anyone can do. SR says I think she got his weakness.

JW looks around and asks why there are beers in her fridge and she says those are KW. we drank outside and while he drinks beer I drink cider. he tries to put it away but she says there are other things that belong to KW so leave it alone. he shakes up the beer cans and puts it back. he says I paid you a lot so move. she gets a text and runs off telling him to eat the fruit and drink coffee. he looks at her text and it’s long so he doesn’t read it

JW gets the kids to read the text and offers a toy for each brother to buy at kingdom. the kid thanks him and asks why he cant read. JW says how he reads other languages but doesn’t read Korean. the boy reads the text to take down the laundry cuz it will rain. the kid reads it wrong and says it said I love you so it startles JW. he grumbles that she went out to get down KW’s blanket. he gives the kids more coupons to buy more than toys.

KW asks if YR let the article out on purpose.she says don’t worry tm another scandal will come out. tm there will be a scandal about me and president Joo. why are you worried about Tae GS? he asks are you ok? you have nothing to do with president Joo so are you ok? how can I help. she says it’s ok it’s not the first time having a scandal so go. he says call if you need and leaves

GS finds JW sitting outside. she asks if he is leaving. he says I was going to but waiting for the owner to come back. he asks did you take down the blanket ok so she asks did you read the text. he says even if I don’t read I have other ways to read. she says that story about the wolf and goat. do you know why the goat felt safe – cuz he believed the wolf would never eat him so he felt safe.you be safe too cuz I wont eat you like the wolf. go now cuz it will rain tonight – leave before it rains hard. she goes inside.

She mutters how scared she is cuz of the ghosts and he is next to her. you are scared of water ghosts. since you said I can believe you to protect you I will believe you. he puts her on her bed and says I will just hold hands and sleep. I trust you so sleep. he holds her hand and makes her lie down.

he watches her sleep and remembers how she said that girl is hurting a lot. he says how he didn’t mean to hurt her. how nice it is to use ghosts as an excuse to hug her. he falls asleep sitting holding her hand. she wakes and almost touches his hair. she remembers how he said he was so scared to death cuz his heart keeps going to her and his pride hurts. she says he is scared and cant read so I cant give him fear too

she wakes up in the morning and he is gone. she looks down at her empty hand

KW tells JW to admit he is dating YR. but JW says your face is on the internet so you admit you are dating her. KW says I don’t want to. JW says then let’s both say we don’t agree with this. they ask Kim if GS saw the article. Kim says she isn’t paying any attention. right now she is looking for a ghost at kingdom

there is a mother on the street passing out fliers for her lost kid. GS tells her sister what’s going on. the kid she lost is next to her. the kid is dead. GR is shocked. GR says that mom thinks he is alive. GS says should I go over and tell her. GR says how can you do that. some man passing by helps the mom pass out fliers. GS watches the ghost kid running away so GS goes after him

GS gives him snacks and tells him to come out and speak to her. Jinjoo and other staff wonder what GS is doing. they see YR coming and Jin Joo says both guys like her (GS) and not YR. I have to be careful of scandals.

YR meets with JW and KW. she says she told the reporters she eats meals with JW and coffee with KW. since her contract is over she is about to leave but JW decides to renew her contract cuz he doesn’t want to end it with a scandal.

as YR leaves she runs into GS. YR asks did you see my article. are you sticking to president Joo? they discuss his curse. GS mumbles I cant avoid a curse from a dead person.

the man who helped the mom is the kid’s killer. he is upset cuz the mom is looking for the dead kid. he decides to do something about it

GS explains to JW,Kim, and KW that there is a dead boy here and explains the situation with the dead kid -how he is so scared he wont talk about what happened. Kim asks you want us to help a dead kid we cant see. JW explains it’s hard to handle the first time. JW reminds KW – aren’t you scared of ghosts? KW says yes but I will help the poor kid. he offers to sing bear song so Kim says we should all do it. they take turns singing and GS tries not to laugh. she says the kid is laughing and do it one more time. JW gets into it and keeps singing so Kim says to stop.

Han reports to SC about GS’s past about her accident. SC asks what was that accident. Han says I am meeting GR again today and will get more info

Han goes to see GR and she offers to pay for tonight and he brings up how they got off topic while talking about GS cuz she was too drunk. she gets him more coffee and smiles at him like she likes him

the kid takes GS to the spot he died. the killer comes over and asks are you looking for something. she says was there a car accident here. he sees the flier she is holding and asks are you looking for that kid. she thanks him for his help and leaves. he wonders did that woman see something.

in the middle of the day that guy had run over the kid and put the kid’s body in his car and drove off. the man says no one saw what happened.

GS goes and sees the kid ghost next to his mom passing out fliers. GS cries watching her.

GS says the kid is dead so should I tell the mom. JW says if she knows she will want to die and follow him. GS says that poor mom. JW says how GS will look strange to the mom for being able to see the dead. just report it to the police. GS asks did you not like it when I first told you I could see the dead HJ. he says I just didn’t like that she was next to me for all that time

SR meets with GS and asks are you meeting JW to treat him for his pain. there is nothing you can do. leave him alone. if you bring up HJ it will upset him more so get away from him. GS asks if talking about HJ is terrible for him and SR says yes so get away from him.

JW is reading the book and complains why are there so many letters. he gets a drink and sees beer

JW goes to her house and says to keep his beer here too cuz there is no room in my fridge. she says you have a big fridge. but he takes out KW’s beer andputs his inside. he says one beer is missing so did you drink with him? GS says KW came over cuz of his friend. she asks about what HJ said to him before – was it terrible. JW remembers and says yes she said something terrible – for me to come back to the way I was and that she loved me. she asks him to speak to KW, but he says you staying next to me is the best. if you cant handle it then don’t mess with me. she holds onto him and says I will handle it. she points out he should read again -aren’t you embarrassed. he says let me go cuz it’s embarrassing.

JW goes home and says it’s embarrassing cuz I didn’t read one book yet. I will read this till the end. why that goat is so brazen. he keeps reading

Han asks if KW saw the article about YR. how she is hurting and hospitalized

KW walks out and wonders if she is really hurting and sees YR doing fine so he smiles. she says didn’t you see the article about me being hospitalized. shouldn’t you bring me soju and dried squid. he says how isn’t thinking of taking care of her.

KW goes back to the office and looks at his dooly doll. he sees on the security camera that YR was crying.

Kim tells KW that JW wants him to report to JW about HJ

JW asks aren’t you leaving cuz you are done working for my dad. heard you have an apartment. KW says I wont leave the gositel. JW says to report about HJ. KW shows the photo and says how she is a fan of Agatha chistie and the name on the postcard is a name of a character. JW wonders if that is the culprit she wanted to protect

the HJ look alike goes to visit HJ’s memorial and smiles. she was there the day of the accident. she was the driver of the car that blew up and had the necklace. she is holding it now

JW goes to visit the memorial – he asks which side is it – dead or not. the person you have to protect I have to find.

when Kim and JW leave the girl watches them drive. Kim notices her.

the girl says Joo Joong Won – did you come to meet HJ – thanks.

GS says to the ghost – I have to know where you are to tell your mother. JW knocks and asks if the dead kid is here. he says I cant see what you see and just listen to your words. that’s how I was totally bewitched. she says yes it was cuz of me. he says yes it was all cuz of you. finding out about HJ too. I came back from visiting her. plus I am reading a book now. she asks which book. he says it’s a series that’s hard to read. she says be sure to read it till the end. he says when I read it to the end my level will go up so it wont be embarrassing. he offers to go with her to tell the kid’s mother

JW asks Kim to go to the orphanage where HJ grew up and find out if she had a twin. I will be back after the meeting. JW leaves and Kim wonders :he must have known. that is why he went to Hee Joo’s memorial. Then this child - is it Hanna?

SR and the look alike goes to JW’s home and SR introduces her to the maid. the girl looks down and asks cant he read books? SR asks how do you know. the girl says didn’t you tell me during drinks last time. she picks up the book and explains about the story – how the wolf and goat liked each other. the one who liked more dies. it was the wolf.

GS asks the kid to tell her where he died. the kid says some place dark. she says go with me. they leave together

Kim goes to see GS but she is gone.

the kid runs into the garage of the man who is the killer. he asks if she came to find something. she is about to leave but he says it’s good you came cuz I have something to ask you. the kid points to the trunk where his body is. she runs over to the kid and calls JW. he is about to get in his car. she says I followed woo jin. JW says the dead kid. she says I discovered his corpse. the killer closes the doors. he calls out are you there miss. JW calls out her name over and over. she sends a text. the killer says since you came alone you didn’t tell anyone yet. she texted that the kid is inside the trunk and the car center address saying the owner killed the kid. JW tries calling but she doesn’t answer. she sent that long text to him. he tells himself you must read this. you can read it. where are you tae gong sil. he looks at the text and the address of the car center.

GS is bleeding from her head wound and tied up. he says you are the killer and you are committing suicide. she says you should have taken him to the hospital. you think when people die it’s over but he is staring at you now. the guy gets scared imagining the dead kid looking at him. she takes that chance to spray his eyes and get away. she tries to open the door. the guy says no one saw. he gets out a sharp tool to stab with. she moves away from him. JW calls out to her. the guy is about to stab her but JW hugs her and protects her. the guy stabbed JW in the back and runs away. JW looks at her and says you got hurt. she asks did you call the police. he says yes. you are ok -thank goodness. he collapses on her shoulder so she asks what’s wrong. she feels his back and the wound. she looks at her bloody hand and sobs.

 the ambulance takes JW away and he is rushed into surgery. GS stands outside the surgery room in shock.

Sung Ran reads the ending of the wolf/goat story and says in the end they couldn’t live together -even though they keep liking each other they die. what kind of story is this. she is crying

GS sits alone holding the sun necklace and hears footsteps coming closer. JW’s ghost walks over and looks at her. He says it’s for real – you are bright like the sun (Tae Yang). Gong Sil: no you cant be. JW: did I die? this is so unfair but since my woman can see me – I can say this and go. he touches her face and says “Tae Gong Sil – I love you.” His figure fades into the bright light and he disappears. she sits and cries her heart out. all we hear are the echoes of her sobs.

End
