Japanese Pop artist Jin Akanishi announced, through Nikkan Sports, that he will be returning to the music scene in August. It has been almost a year and a half since the idol released his American debut album, Japonicana. However, during this break, Akanishi has continued to write music.
Jin Akanishi’s career had been put on hold after his unexpected marriage to Meisa Kuroki, after reports that she was pregnant. Akanishi’s nationwide tour was canceled by Johnny & Associates as a way to penalize the idol. He was also forced by the company to leave his live-action drama, GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka, which he was working on at the time. On September 23rd, Kuroki gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, the couple’s first child. Even though his life has been busy with his family, Akanishi has decided to make his comeback.
Not only will the former KAT-TUN artist release his Hey What’s Up? single on August 7th, his 47 RONIN film is expected to finally premier in December. The film stars American actor Keanu Reeves and had previously been delayed due to re-shoots with the main actor.
